Oh... my! this actually brought tears to my eyes. is -such- a girly girl :P It has the unique distinction of signaling strength while being both beautiful and sad at the same time. A very moving and well done image. Hats off!

Thank you everyone for leaving such nice comments. I greatly appreciate them. ChiSungLee, my grandfather was in WW2 hence the M1. My condolences on the passing of your husband. Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings with me. Too often when remember conflicts past, we have a tendency to forget the regular people that lived in such trying circumstances. The strength of character to keep getting up day to day to try and live your life while surrounded with the carnage of war is one of the better testiments to the human spirit...
oh wow- this is awesome- my god you did great bud :) got my vote :)
Bronson there are no words to express how this picture makes me feel. My father who thank the lord is still with us. He just stared at the picture. My brother I am going to show him this one. the feelings and such that I feel while looking at this well the words couldn't compare with the actual feelings. So I am just going to say ... nothing. But I want to thank you for such an awesome picture though meerely saying thank you is not enough ... hugs PM
Beautiful tribute.. a silhouette of a youth gaining worlds of experience in moments. How touching.
Excellent work and message!!
This pictures brings a sense of pride in me. I have followed in the steps of a legion of a given few who have put all on the line, in the name of this country, freedom and to bring to an end Tyranny in other lands. Whether they carry an M-1 or M-16 we are all Brothers In Arms. Thank you for posting this
