The depiction of the rough sea is amazing!
Thanks so much, tatu09
Living on New York’s Atlantic Coast as I do, and having spent countless hours fishing the Briny Blue, I can attest to the realism of the ocean in the marvelous image. Once again, it is a mystery how you created this ocean effect, but it’s breathtaking. The dramatic sky and wave-battered vessel add to this absolutely stunning render. WOW!
Which effect are you referring to? The waves are terrains created with a custom-made material. The sky is a photo on a 2D plane, which I enhanced with a Bryce Sky effect and a distance light. The sea spray is created with spheres using a volumetric mat and a little Photoshop. It's not a huge trick, but I'm very pleased that you find it so realistic. :)
Sehr realistisch wirkende Szene mit der rauhen See und den passenden gewitterhaften Wolken. Das Boot scheint wirklichkeitstreu positoniert.
Vielen Dank Horo.
Never in a million years could I get Bryce terrains to take on such realistic wave forms. The volumetric-sphere spray effect is also quite realistic. Incredible work!
You're too kind. I actually wrote a tutorial for this, but unfortunately it's only in German, and my English wouldn't be good enough to translate it. Otherwise, I’d happily send it to you. It shows how I created the raw version of this image, at least.
If it were in Swedish, I might be able to glean some info, but German? Not so likely, but thanks for offering!
Yeah, it's a shame. My English is just too shaky to properly translate a tutorial.
Looks like a typical North Sea day. Very well done. Your English is good!
Thanks a lot, Buffalo1. But it's only useful as long as I have a translator available when needed :D
At the moment I have too little time, but I can start translating the tuts when I'm back from Denmark next week.
A generous offer, but you have a few other plans for the time being—including your own course, my Padawan :D
he he he usual I would have said I'm multitasking, but for now, first Denmark, then all other stuff :)
That's exactly what I'm saying :D
Fantastisch dynamisch - bringt dem Essen immer mehr Geschmack und Säure =D
Ach was, erst wenn die Wellen höher als das Schiff sind lässt du dir dein Essen noch mal durch den Kopf gehen :D
Fantastic image
Many thanks, herhey2000
Night Patrol :)
Wonderful
Thanks a lot, MagikUnicorn
This is beautiful work!
Many thanks, starship64
Perfekter Sturm
Danke dir, illkirch
Du hast die Szene wirklich sehr sehr gut umgesetzt. Das Wasser sieht täuschend echt aus. Hervorragende Arbeit.
Vielen Dank, Ulf_Eisenbart
Superbly dramatic, near photo quality render. I'm almost envious of your skill with Bryce. :-)
Thanks, Staticon. But there’s no reason for envy. Just a lot of practice over nearly 20 years—nothing more.
I've been practicing for 29 years and still can't match that realism.
Still, it does spur me on to keep trying. :-)
That’s a good attitude; then you’ll manage it, too :)
Wow this is great as always.
Many thanks, poser4me
Very Impressive - Well Done !....
Many thanks, pc_artist
Now that's a top-notch sea scene!
For Bryce, it's super-top-notch!
Many thanks, max-
Cheers..
