Very lovely! Always a treat to see the monarchs. They are long gone from here - we have been getting snow, with more due tonight and tomorrow. By the way, what is the name of the plant it is on?
The flowering plant is milkweed. There is a passion vine and canna in the background.
Lovely shot
Appreciate the comment.
One Sunday, long ago, I pulled into a side-road with a friend, which led to a forest clearing. Suddenly we were surrounded by Monarchs ... not thousands, not millions, but 100's of millions! It was both scary and amazing! Unfortunately I left my camera home that day:-(
When there is a mass migration there can be that many. A couple of summers ago we had hundreds of them in the garden. Not millions but it sure seemed like a lot. Thanks for your comment.
Yup, every tree was packed with Monarchs -- more of them than leaves. Later I learned it was a migration, like you said.
Ein wunderbares Foto
Thanks for looking.
Oh the wonders of nature.
Amen to that. Thanks for the comment.
Marvelous!!!!This photo is really fantastic!!👍🙋♂️
Thanks for the comment.
So sorry to hear that they haven't been as many around this year! But happy to see this visitor to your garden, beautiful shot
Thanks for looking.
Butterfly's from my past as a boy...I would grow milkweed plants and watch the life cycle of these wanders. Beautiful capture and sad to hear you only got a few Monarch's flutter by this year.
We are just glad we have a few. Also have spotted several caterpillars, so there will be more. :-) Thanks for the comment.
Very beautiful capture!
Thanks for looking and your comment.
My compliments to a nice and splendid garden...the type that beautiful winged visitors often like to visit. When the weather improves next season more butterflies will visit your garden...at least, that's my wish for you! :-)
I accept your great wish. I don't know if you saw the video I posted a while back of the butterfly garden. There were many butterflies. Ian (Radioham) took my phone video and made it so it would post here.
What beautiful flowers and butterfly, my friend.
Thank you.
