Description
A few more snaps of New York City from a distant view.
7 years earlier I went to the top of that twin tower with two friends, but since it was our 'spur of the moment' decision, I didn't bring my camera. One thing I'll never forget is the express elevator ride to the top -- it was even more thrilling than the view :-)
Personally I liked the old towers more than the new one, both in form and function. The old towers were simple and practical --- the new one, not so much ;-)

When we visited New York City we got stuck in the St. Patrick's Day parade traffic. Green everything. Like a huge party.
LOL ... I remember one Christmas time just window-shopping on 5th Ave, and I had to push through an river of people doing the same thing ... it was like walking through an endless can of packed sardines.
That attack will remain within the HISTORY books it is funny but like me I never seem to have a camera ready when I should have, These are two very nice images
Thanks, Radio:-)
Great captures and the weather looks awesome on the day :)
Thanks, Steff. Some of those I took from the ferry boat.
2,996 People are credited as dying on 9/11 with another 4.5 to 4.6 million people being killed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen as part of anti-terrorist operations in response to that attack. I'm not sure we can call this past history just yet. I'd go for top shelf "Nostalgic Photos".
Yes, Sydney ... and if we look at an even bigger picture, your figures are just a tiny fraction of the death and misery brought upon humanity in just the past 70 year history, all in the name of bigger profits for a small minority.
This picture throws me back into the early to mid-eighties, when I used to live in Brooklyn. Simpler times :-) Thanks for posting it.
A decade before that I also lived in Brooklyn for a while ... and I remember those twin towers being only partially built.
