Description
Huītzilō-pōchtli, the aztec God of both, the Sun and War. Of the Plagues of the ancient Mesoamerica the worst, possibly.
He is depicted as a fierce Warrior with a second Mouth on the Navel, with sharp Teeth, Hint to his Hunger for human Flesh, and two Bat-Wings on his Back. His Weapon is the "Firesnake", a kind of burning Lance, maybe. He was one of the most important Gods and Patron of the Maincity Tenochtitlan.
The Aztec waged war for two Reasons: The subdue other Kingdoms and get Tributes, e.g. Food, Gold and Working-Power. The other is the so-called Flower-War, to catch human Sacrifices for their God ever hungry for human Flesh. War was their permanent Lifeform.

His fire needs movement for he is a bringer of death
Graceful he would see upon You, if You multiply his Fire! ;)
Stunning series, Chris! Very nice color spectrum; dark, strong colors and I especially like the fire effects!
A great Honor, Master Courtray! If You say so, it is not totally wrong!
Great Effects of Yours right now. You bring this Genre to a new Level!!! Thumbs in Advance!
Very interesting! Great images and information!!!!
Thank You very much for the Time and the Words. It may not be Your Archetypes (and not mine!) but the have a right of their own, too, I think! And for us, the Living, it may be a Warning, that we do not let them return, and prefer the liberla Gods, e.g. Greece ... :)
Now here's some cool Aztec stuff. I have an old school bud who was really into that stuff, and will email him this, if his email is still the same. Well worth it. Awesome and upvoted.
Glad, that You found some Worth in it. But we have to be aware, that these are Troubles of the People in forgotten Times! Never wake them up!!!
You've captured the power and destruction well in this.
I fear so! ;) I cannot believe that these Cultures of Stone-Age-Character have existed up to the 16th Century!?!
Up load example now If you like I will play with some others from this set
Thank You very much, Master of the Art to give Things Live and Movement! May Huītzilō protect You ... or better not! ;)
