Description
The Lorelei is said to be a maiden who threw herself into the Rhine in despair over a faithless lover, and became a nixe whose voice lured fishermen to destruction.
The story is best known through a poem by Heinrich Heine that begins "Ich weiss nicht was soll es bedeuten".

The Loreley (also written Lorelei) is a rock on the eastern bank of the Rhine which soars almost 400 feet above the water line. It marks the narrowest part of the river between Switzerland and the North Sea. A very strong current and rocks below the waterline have caused many boat accidents there.
Loreley is also the name of one of the beautiful Rhine Maidens who lured sailors to their doom with their song.

Very interesting ! and very well done image !!
Moving tale and moving maiden. Beautiful.
Reminds me of my school years, when I studied the poem in german. She looks still as young as then.
