Description

I usually prefer not to post test renders, but these three look so evil now I just couldn't resist. It took quite a while to get the shaders right in Blender, and the key to getting the look I was after was to set up the sub-surface scattering properly. After a mild case of obsessive-compulsive-tweak disorder I finally settled on this set of looks for the beastie. Soon I will be customising some of the textures somehow, I do quite fancy putting some sort of forest green camouflage on one to see how it looks. Figures set up in DAZ Studio, transferred to Blender using the Diffeomorphic add-on, shaders heavily tweaked by me. Rendered in Blender 4.1.1.

Thanks for taking a look! It's fun playing with Blender and you can't beat the price, so it is being used more and more as it continues to improve.

OMG.... I'm gonna have some weird dreams tonight! And it's all your fault! 🤣

These guys are reeeeallllly evil looking - fantastic Blender work! Wow!

I really need to get my feet wet with Blender. Of course, now I've downloaded Vue and Plant Factory now that they're freebies so I have those to play with (I used Vue a few years ago).

Vue is superb, and has a lot of creative potential for huge, open landscapes and natural environments. When I tried it years ago the thing that troubled me was the limited import options, but I believe that has been fixed so Poser and DAZ Studio content can now be used quite freely. The news about plant factory and Vue is new to me, so I will look into that, plant factory might be very useful!
