Description

After an excursion in the 2D galleries it?s about time for a new Bryce image, and I?m glad I could finish it in January :-) Terrains for houses, walls, streets, stairs and dead trees were made in Photoshop. Textures were photographed in Belgium, France and Greece. Characters are the same as in ?Harbour?, but a little older and with different costumes. (and they still have difficulties with their hats...) Built and rendered in Bryce 5, postwork in Painter 7

A BIG GRIN!!!!!.........:-)and what more can I say "Sh#t, not bad for a Mac at all" Imagine what you could achieve on a PC!!!! and by the way of course this is a Byrce image. It is damn obvious after reading your tutorials (which is required reading for anyone who works with Bryce. Keep up the stunning work Kees.

awesome! you get the feeling the storm's bearing down fast! beyond excellent, partly because (1) it's a great exploration of technique, and partly because(2) the result is excellent. it's a nit, but the two ladies by the washtub seem a little too flat - i think you would have to use photoshop to "bake in" shadows on them to give more form, right? ahhh, it's only a nit. and i want that stone wall!!!

Excellent picture, very atmospheric and dramatic. Everything is just right. And a few of the comments gave me a good laugh too!

This is mind truly boggling. I can even begin to imagine how to use the photographic textures you do and make them look this good. I only hope I can manage this quality one day. I have one thought, cooment, suggestion about the lighting. The woman in the foreground captures the viewers eye right off. If you look at her closely you see that the highlights are in front...front of her head and face, front of her bodice...and yet the shadow is cast as though the light source were behind her. (Yes I know this has been pointed out before) I was just wondering what it would look like if you chose for all of the shadows to come toward the viewer as if cast by the sun coming through the clouds. Not only the front lady, but the supposedly "flat ladies" as well... (Wanders away mummbling to himself something vaguely incoherent about wishing he could be that good)

I had written this some days ago: Yes, it's a very nice image, congratulations to you :) But....For me it's not a Bryce image, there is too much things made with others programs and practically everything is made with Photoshop. For me, It would be better to put it in Mixed Medium Gallery and, even though I find your creation really very beautiful, it is not representative of Bryce. Everybody uses programs as Poser for characters imported then in Bryce, and use Photoshop to refine certain details, but there, sincerely , for me it is more 2D. But this does not prevent me from finding your work very well made :) If I had known that this would have generated such debates!!! Ha! Ha! This will have at least had the advantage to speak:):) But it doesn't much matter indeed, Kees, that this image is in Bryce or not, being this a detail, but what I expressed nevertheless , while appreciating highly your work:) And, moreover, you know it very well.

Fabulous! I think too few Brycers realize the potential of using digital photos for texture maps. I love Bryce procedurals, but if you want photorealism from Bryce, one of the easist ways to get it is to use photos. Bravo!

I've looked through your whole gallery, and I keep coming back to this one, the first I clicked on. The way you integrate photographs is absolutely amazing, and lends a sense of realism that is often lacking in 3D art. I love this particular image because of the slightly surreal feel... Never stop!

I remember the first time I saw this image and how utterly flabbergasted I was at the overall seamless composition. What a surprise to learn today that is was you. It may be from 2003, but it still holds its value in artistry and realism. Extremely fine work and I was most happy to view it again today. :)
