Description
After an excursion in the 2D galleries it?s about time for a new Bryce image,
and I?m glad I could finish it in January :-)
Terrains for houses, walls, streets, stairs and dead trees were made in Photoshop.
Textures were photographed in Belgium, France and Greece.
Characters are the same as in ?Harbour?, but a little older and with different costumes.
(and they still have difficulties with their hats...)
Built and rendered in Bryce 5, postwork in Painter 7

Its' beautiful, Roobol. The sky's dramatic, the use of photographic textures incredible. And you managed to make the 2d people look like they're part of the render. My compliments.

Well I am probably gonna get lynched for this but I have to say it anyway. Do not get me wrong your work is truely amazing and I love your technique but for some reason the lighting always seems just a tad off. Now, I realise the amount of work you put into your Bryce images (I have admired them for quite sometime) it just seems to me that the overall lighting on this one would be darker. This is just my opionion and I do not mean any disrespect to your images..I was just wondering if you have ever considered this?

As far as I'm concerned, if it was rendered in Bryce, it IS Bryce. I love your inovative techniques. Wonderful work, and congrats on the AOM!

Great image, and wonderful composition.
But I will have to rag on ya about the lighting. Ok... The sun is coming through the clouds up above, yet there is brighter light casting a shadow as if the sun were behind us? Also note how the shadow is on the lady in the foreground.
Other than that, the quality is remarkable.

A great picture as always. You are one of the best artist of renderosity, there are no doubts. But as was said by SylvieB92 comment, the question is : should we post such work in Bryce gallery or not ? The answer is probably : it depend of the amount of post work on the picture. I love your art anyway...

Love that cobblestone. Post work or no... It was rendered in bryce. Anybody not using post I would urge to consider it. Bryce is cool but just a tool in the palet of an artist. Anyway he said he made the the stuff of (terrains)...That's bryce as far as I know. Wonderful work as always.

Magnifique Kees! who cares about the light ; I regard your work as surreal anyway and this again looks like it is straight out of a dream. Surely if we are looking for true photorealism (dull over rated concept for a start) we will take a photograph n'est ce pas? An then publish in the photogallery. Bryce is designed to be expanded by the use of other apps to overcome its own shortcomings and limitations, and with some imagination it can achieve magnificent images such as this! keep up the good work Kees and ignore the detractors; it would be very dull to be perfect ;-D

I always loved your personal and very artistic style...this one is no exception. About the discussion whether you should post in this gallery or not...it's a quite inferieur discussion. You render your images in Bryce, import greyscale handdrawn terrains from Photoshop into Bryce too, and fortunately have enough artistic skills to give your images a touch up in other programs. To tell you not to post here is the same as telling a painter only to use red, blue or yellow colours from his palette! Karin :-)
