Back in the 80s, a noteworthy cultural crossover component was putting punk-rock elements into post-apocalyptic movie and story factions. The mohawks, leather jackets, and holey pants were peppered liberally into post-apocalyptic imagery of the time. Goths came later, and were the occasional good fit with their emphasis on retro-traditional clothes but with a darker and harder aesthetic. I guess Morticia and Wednesday Addams were the OG's - original goths. Probably not what the original adherents were all about, but from the normie point of view they represented something dangerous, and therefore made their way into the apocalyptic stories of the time through the back door. So here are some of my former fellows (of my ancient past life) back in that context. You all deserve some representation here even if was a past life (or maybe even current) of yours too, and some powerful representation at that. This series also illustrates a limitation that I've seen in AI art: the AI doesn't really understand guns. You can specify that you want the character to hold a specific item, or even a general description, and the AI tries to cobble together some really odd formidable-looking device that they're supposedly holding, sometimes with a grip that makes no sense at all. Yet when you put in a descriptor of "in modern combat gear", the image appears with a full, accurate true-to-life weapon held accurately, usually in a low ready position. AI's are funny people.
