Still WIP, and comments or suggestions of how to finish it off are welcome

nice picture... =) great textures and modeling but there is something with the lights and shadows that needs improvement. maybe sharper shadows?
Nice atmosphere, wonderful texturing. Only comment I have is on the picture/sculpture of the lady (between 2 pillars); it is hard to see exactly what it is.
This is still WIP???Wow,cant wait to complete image..Great modeling!
Superbly done and a joy to see the various things possible with different software. Agree about the sculpture/picture and maybe a Roman figure walking into or out of the archway would finish it off.
The two balustades left and right of the starirs aren't supported (yet) by anything. Their structure is highly unarchitectural also as the top one goes much further that the bottom one. The pillars of the balustrade also need some work, as doest the flat stone on which they stand. No classical trained architect would ever place pillars like that on one lat stone. Several layers of varying sizes are obligatory. Apart from this: a very promising wip indeed. Hope to see the evolution.
I think this is really looking great. But if this is an outside image then hard shadows would be more appropriate.
Is this based on an actual building? I think it looks great (though I agree about hard shadows, unless it's a cloudy day). But if you're not doing a model of a real-world building and have license to add things, it's strange that there are no supports under the further parts of the stair railing. The marble seems to hang there without gravity. Maybe the DirtyNuts seem a little strong. And maybe a little more color breakup. But really, it's quite cool.
This is awesome! can't wait to see the final render.
Fabulous! Great modeling!
this one is already a hightlight! but i agree with miketche 'bout the shadows. hungry for the final render. please post.
