Description

Some renders from last night. I should have spend more time setting up the fire, to filter the low values from the borders, but that's good enough to get an overall view of how this version behaves. Interesting note 1: The grey smoke on the left seems to be too low density to show any shadows. Interesting note 2: the yellow smoke turn bluish against the sky, and according to the Poser Manual I suppose it is correct(?) (I changed words to match my scenario): "if white light passes through a volume that scatters yellow, it will appear yellow-ish where the light enters and scatters back, and blue at the end where the light leaves the volume at the other end." In the center: smoke volume with density ranging from 0.3 to 22, 50% mixed absorption/scatter with default color (0.8 R/G/B). Fire volume with temperature ranging from 900 to 4000 K, emission ranging from 0.001 to 10.8. Geometry 205,132 points, 29 Mb on disk compressed obz. On the left: grey smoke volume with density ranging from 0.3 to 13, 100% scatter with 0.3 R/G/B. Geometry 304,710 points, 43 Mb on disk compressed obz. On the right: yellow smoke volume with density ranging from 0.3 to 20, 100% scatter with 0.9 R/G, 0 B. Geometry 360,381 points, 51 Mb on disk compressed obz. Render times (AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core, 64Gb RAM): CAM1 37min, CAM2 36min, CAM4 24min, CAM5 36min. Rendered in Poser 12 Superfly, 1000x1000, preset ultra adaptive max transparent bounces 512, Intel Denoise applied. Text/logo overlays using Affinity Photo, image format JPEG 85.
