One of the images of my womens day project (a bit more longterm than just one day). I let them voice what they have to face day by day and what they want. By far to many people beeing a women means you have to get at some time in your life a baby (well, biologie wise ideally before 30). But many women decide willingly and also some unwillingly against a baby. That does not make them less of a women. No, for some it is heartbreaking and desastrous - when they want kids and cannot get one. (here getting one includes also adopting a kid as it is an ugly inhumane procedure here and most get a no to adopt a kid). And for some it causes that people look strange at you, talk about you... just cause you willingly decided against a kid. That you have become something unnatural und strange - even so you are still the same person. Why? I also hate up until now that women get asked about kids, life-plans and getting kids during their job interview. Will they ever ask that a man? Cause it takes two to found a family (or medical help for solo-mums) - and that includes male-couples, female couples, and male-female couples for me. Why the heck is there the idiom in my country: it needs a village to raise a kid? Thus also the companies have to be part of raising kids. I am pretty sure that Germany has too few kids cause of the family-unfriendly politics and laws. It is a mess here to be a mum (or dad), to have a job and raise kids.
