A few notes about the image.
To shade the background a bit I added a partial roof and side wall, this along with DOF and a volume fog was an attempt to give the image more depth and (hopefully) a natural look to the scene. The fog volume is interesting, it has 3 section of increasing density (I only used the first section and only on the background). I added more lanterns to the scene but didn't see much light from them until I enable the Caustic Sampler on the Optimization tab, that is when I got the nice glow on the barrel and crate. Last note, reducing Crush Black on Tone Mapping to .05 got more light into the shadows.

I imagine the sailors are tripping over themselves to help her aboard the ships to pillage... love the character, she is very fashionable. The mice in my kitchen have tiny squeaky conversations and arguments sometimes... So happy to see you sharing your beautiful artwork again. Happy Sunday!
