Description
This is from the familiar Gothic House genre, siblings raised in isolation a bizarre house. The background is based on "I Carceri" (Prisons) by the 18th C Venitian engraver Piranesi, vast dreamlike enviroments of endless, purposeless stairs.
The more immediate thing on my mind is the forthcoming new novel by Suzanna Clarke (of Jonathan Strange fame) also called Piranesi, and also featuring a vast labyrinthine dwelling.
The picture is called "Opera Piranesi".
