Wonderful presentation and great texture work. I think I might change the diffuse color of the lady's dress to either a brighter white or a pastel green or blue or maybe pink. As it is, the dress acts like camo against the building materials. After all, the lady IS the centerpiece for the image, so she should stand out and not get lost in all the busy texture surrounding her. Just a thought (small chuckle).

OMG !!! I almost fell out of my hi-chair when I saw your name attached to this image, Blue :-D

Greywolf (as usual) makes a good point although I see where you were going with this re: longprong's comment. But I'll take it if this marks the start of PhthaloBlue again contributing his enormous skills. We will all benefit and learn from it. Excellent setting. I have this set and never 'saw' that position. Beautiful pose and an adorable expression. Nice subtle touch with the lighting that illuminates without calling attention to itself.

And your inclusion of dForce (especially the hair) shows you have definitely been paying attention!

Not that I've inspected both versions, I must say I HIGHLY prefer this one. Your first instincts were correct. The second version is fine, but this one is more visually interesting. The colours and textures ground the image in a more substantive way. This is superb. 5+++++

I appreciate Greywolf44's suggestions, and I see you tried them out with real visual success. For me, however, as one who has no experience in 3D (I come from 2D and photography), I think this is perfect. The similarity in tone between her dress and the surrounding is just right, to me; as well as similar patterns (ie, the florid patterns on the column behind her---and on the wall in front of her---both having something in common with the lace pattern of her dress). She's part of her setting---a quiet, introspective setting. If this were a photo, one would say you captured a real mood...and your quiet, green-tinted light makes this almost melancholy. It's as if she were lost in herself, when we called out to her; and she looked up suddenly and acknowledged us. (We assume she'll go back to her previous mood as soon as we disappear.) That's how it feels to me, at least. (The "decisive moment" of a photograph.) And your composition is intuitive too: ie, the columns harmonize with her vertical stance; while her angle (body and legs) give a graceful human touch to your image. A beautifully conceived, quiet mood piece, and very photographic. You have a definite painter's and photographer's eye...
