Description

Ragged Point is about 70 miles south of Monterey on California Highway 1. It's a convenient spot for food, gas, restrooms and breathtaking views. I have several shots taken at Ragged Point. This sculpture was an addition since my last view and the view through the center certainly describes Ragged Point well. If you look closely you can see highway one clinging to the edge of the mountain. Imagine the view! Enjoy!

At first i thought it was a donut monument to police officers.LOL Klasse foto,excellent shot,wonderful area, was there a couple of times.

wonderful clarity and separation of several sights here, and I love the colors too. That sculpture/display is so stark against that huge mountain shoreline...it draws one in (which I'm sure was its intention), and your composition is wonderfully balanced. I can see the highway, and was on roads like that, years back, and I have no idea how anyone can drive them without feeling like it'd be a miracle if they got off that thing alive. Coming from the Midwest, these mountain roads are out of a fairy tale!

A superb and special capture, I like the generous gorgeous sunshine that illuminates this sculpture and this highly symbolic place in many respects, above all, for me, is reminiscent of a great page in American literature history, thinking of Steinbeck, and the place where James Dean appeared, in one of his films. As a young French student, I also spent a couple of days in Big Sur, hitching my way from Carmel Valley and Monterrey. An unforgettable memory... 🌎🌞😎
