Description

Pilot pen and watercolour, 103x99mm, 1989 At this time I was heavily into the fantasy art of Rodney "In Search of Forever" Matthews. Again it's not good technically, but the subject is typical of the sort of thing Rod has created. It's also typical of the sort of thing I did 13 years ago. My pilot pen and watercolour period :-)

A fun picture: I like the idea of a castle floating in the air, and the way you assembled the color scheme is very evocative.

You were so young then, and yet so in command of shapes and colours? It's impressive.. and even if the technique is meant to give a strong structure o the image, your borders, technique of framing, and that sky makes it all so aerial and dreamy.. wonderful again. :)

I love how your technique has given this piece such a strong feeling 3D. These are true border lines...in a good way. very deep.
