Description
I took this picture of a playground near the raging river today. It has been an unforgettable week in my home town of Bundaberg Qld. Australia.Our area has had 4 tornadoes & the worst floods in history. Our family is safe thank god.The armies Black Hawk helicopters have been lifting people off roves to safety.Some people are refusing to leave their pets , they will only save people. The hospital has no power & airlifting all out, a massive operation.I like many others will join the mud army for the cleanup when waters go down. What a mad world it is. I have been away for a while, but always think of you all ,hugs Glenda

wow wonder if this happen because of the moveing of the earth axes with the japan earthquake. I read if the earth axes moves the jet stream is off for a few hundred miles at times. it may be that what happen here and the rains came like this

We had a similar experience almost 2 yrs ago .... a 100-year floor is what they called it. This look all too familiar. But it is a beautiful shot.

Wow, a great capture of this terrible event Glenda. I came through Bundaberg in December 2011 on a train from Brisbane to Cairns. As we had stopped a local came on board - he was commuting to Mackay. He told me about the flood of 2010. Now the flood level of the river was even higher than in 2010. I am glad you are OK. Seems the weather is crazy (probably global warming). Fires in New South Wales and floods in Queensland. He also told me about Bundaberg Rum. As I checked in at the Melbourne airport for the flight back to the US I had the chance to buy some Bundaberg Rum but put it off because the extra hazzle and figured I would get some in the US, but I can't find it here. Anyway, I am glad you are OK!

Interesting shot. The United States found out when hurricanes hit some people refuse to leave their animals, actually die. They are trying to include pets in evacuation plans.

Looks very surreal, but at least those trees are getting a good watering..my Bundy friends also survived the big wet ! Stay dry & ~Cheers~
