I loved the way the sunlight on these vines brought out the vibrant colors of autumn.

The composition of this image is spot-on perfect, and I see something in the background that really draws my attention. I can't really recognize the species of vine that these are, but it looks like they anchor themselves with holdfasts; and it looks like they were pulled off of the siding in the background...but as holdfasts, they leave "sucker prints" that always form the most interesting patterns. The colors and the light are fantastic in this shot, and the composition is really nice. I like the asymmetry of it, because it implies so much more than it shows. Judging by the light, it's coming from the "empty" part of the photograph and it's out of camera range, but its absence adds so much to the image. For me, that heightens the drama a little bit, and the composition has an interesting tension to it also: the shaggy vines dominate so much of this shot, and then there's open space. Both regions are nicely balanced, at least for me, but there's a kind of creative tension between them also: I think it comes from the lines in the siding, going horizontally, while the nicely shaggy vines seem to point along a diagonal. I love stuff like that. Feel free to post more shots!
