Leslie Barron May 1954 - July 2012

Leslie can be found in many human hearts.
On the Friday after my sister's death, two of my nieces and I went to her office to clear away her things. We were greeted by her coworkers who struggled to keep back tears as they told us how important Leslie had been to them and how much she is missed. The following words are from one of Leslie's coworkers to our mother:
"I would like to share my thoughts on Leslie's passing. Your daughter, Leslie and I were work friends for more than 20 years and for about 10 of them our offices were near each other. Leslie was smart and serious and deserved every promotion she received. No matter how busy she was, Leslie would go out of her way to help resolve problems and find needed information. But Leslie was also funny and whimsical and we shared many fond moments talking about our lives and pets - her cat Billy Bob and my dog Nike. When she became ill, Leslie faced her future with grace and courage. She lived her life on her own terms - coming to work, and traveling while undergoing difficult medical treatments. She was happy for every birthday and last year, she was proud to be recognized for 25 years on the job. Her passing is an insurmountable loss for you and your family, but know that Leslie is missed at work every day by friends and co-workers."
I love this image of Leslie taken by her partner, Sam. I see it and remember her love of life, her restful presence and serenity, and her deep appreciation of the world around her. She enriched my life beyond measure. I miss her intensely. She lives forever in my heart.
