Description

An ordinary image unless you zoom.... One of a brood of Bombay-Mix-addicted baby blackbirds in my garden. I don't mind if you look but don't comment, but please zoom. The EXIF suggest I was 60cm away when I took this. Thank you for looking. ~Steve~

Love it Steve but this is an adult female, probably the mother of the chicks. Zoom really is fantastic.

Beautiful macro capture, Tommo. I get within five metres, and try to point a camera at anything ( even humans .. ;o) ) and that is s sign for the subject to fly off, run away etc.. Lots of lovely detail in this shot, my friend, but no sign of the 'devil' Warm regards, from a wet, clammy Glasgow. I'm surprised the Olympic torch hasn't been extinguished once or twice the last couple of days. It took a wee trip in a gondola today ( no not in Venice, but one of those ski lift things ) on its way up to Inverness. Have a peaceful weekend, John.

Such fine detail in the zoom. Is that your home I see reflected in the bird's eye?

Fantastic detail, this must be zoomed! I zoomed again on the eye and can see windows and a cloudy sky! You can see the detail on every layering of the feathers, it's a wonderful capture. I'm going to try this Bombay mix, I have a pair of ducks that visit us occasionally, I wonder what they will make of it?!!

Wow! Incredible! My dogs would eat that food if I used it for the birds.

Super sharp detailed capture my friend. I love the small bit of reflection of the sky and clouds in the eye of the bird. Outstanding photography. God Bless.

Curious - manual or auto focus? No need to say that the details are awesome - i think others have done that job for me. A larger image and you might be able to make out you in the reflection in the eye (i can already see a human-sized lump on the lawn)!

Incredible details, every feather barb is so clearly defined. It looks like it was etched onto metal.
