Description

In New Orleans, right next to one of its famous cemeteries, and across the street from a well known restaurant, is a magnificent Crepe Myrtle tree. I placed my palm on its smooth bark and connected to its strength and beauty. The patterns and glossiness of its bark is so beautiful. This was made from an image taken of that tree and I can think of no one more suitable for me to dedicate it to, than Lynn. Her love and connection to nature is well known to all who have had the privilege of getting to know her, and have seen her beautiful work. Happy Birthday, Lynn! May the strength and beauty of nature continue to enrich your life and live deep in your heart. I hope you are having a fantastic birthday!

Oh my dear friend Lucinda Marvelous native american image! You did a superb job on this, thank you so much! I absolutely love it, it feels like a blanket to me. Would grace the chief's tipi I think. I'm so out of touch with everyone and would not have known about any of the images today were it not for my daughter telling me. The tree is stunning, how I would have loved to touch it and sit beneath it but I can feel from your description that you felt the deep connection, thank you for sharing that with me! And the guy named Tree, too funny! Last year when I lost my other pc I also lost my birthdays, addys and phone numbers so please send me all your info again. With all my heart I thank you, its absolutely beautiful and so full of spirit that it takes my breath away!

It's intriguing, I've never seen anything quite like it. Looking closely at the pattern, the wood grain seems woven somehow. But perhaps sculpted is a better metaphor. This must be a very unique breed of tree. Alas, I did not visit the Cemeteries of New Orleans when I was there.

Lucinda, this is a fabulous dedi to one of the kindest Ladies in the gallery. This was such a clever and creative idea, and your description behind the creation of this dedi made it even more special.

A splendid birthday gift for Lynn and it comes from your heart too. What a great idea to use the texture of the tree for this base. Very well thought out.
