Description

Ah... the romance of the great flying boats ... the splash of waves, the roar of multiple radial engines... ...the bark of 20 mm cannon fire? Huh? More like a flying "flak-ship" than a flying boat, the IJN's Kawanishi H8K2 long-range flying boat ("Emily" to the Allies) was arguably the most powerful flying boat of the Second World War. H8K2s often shrugged off attacks that would have seen their contempories crash and burn. The "Emily" was heavily armoured and packed five 20mm cannons. So it could often give as good as it got. If the Short Sunderland was the "Flying Porcupine" then the Emily was something akin to a flying triceratops. I've had this model sitting aside in basic form for a while now, but I had to learn a few more things about Shade to cope with the fuselage and cockpit area... all the glass! Of course, I also still have to texture the model... Thanks for viewing.

Nice model, love the 'flying triceratops' tag...certainly was a beast, look forward to seeing this textured in a scene....

Amazing job! It is hard for me to loft the fuselage so the aerodynamic parts above fit properly to the hydro parts below.
