mixed medium.
the ship is an untextured model made in 3ds max, then much detail and textures were painted over in photoshop as overlays. birds are from a few photos, and rock is a heavily modified photo.

Amazing! This has classic SF art written all over it (stylistically) and it's right up my alley. I love the mood and the colors in this. It's so deliciously bleak and otherworldly and just outright cool. This is making a trip into my favorites!
