More tweaking. experimented with the boundary between the 2 materials but was causing nasty artifacts and increasing render time considerably.

The weirdest &@ scariest thing in tis image is if I get up close I keep seeing odd cartooon chareters in the blobs lookg at each other?! Or do I nee another pill?!;-) In the fore masts (lower left) theres fantastic shapes (assmued displacements) but why not match the colours to the displacements simply by using the same shape but with a colour texture?! Funky Forms ...Ive got Quantumgoose-pimples :-))))
