:-D Thank you for this gesture, Lorie!.. I do like it. It's true, interesting lighting is not always about the light ... but about how we sculpt the shadows.  Creative use of shading also strengthens a work.  Here, the shadows keep our attention focused right where it needs to be, upon the two subjects and the dynamic between them. My favorite works of expression are those which allow for a broad range of interpretation.  We all like to be engaged with a work in a way that lets us infuse something of our own ideas and perception into the mix.  This vision is ideal for such viewer interaction. My first impression of the scene was that the girl in the glass is the younger version of she who is captivated by her.  This in itself is interesting because the girl in the glass does not appear to be captive at all; preserved, yes ... but not captive. The younger persona is gazing off as if onto the dreams of a life to come, she even appears a little bored with her own age as if intent to get out into the world already.  It is as if the elder keeps a bright and pure image of her self in a safe place, always available to revisit and connect with. What is very interesting to my eyes is that the only source of illumination in the scene appears to actually emanate from the young girl.  Yet, no matter how you look at it this is a deeply interesting work. It was a very uplifting surprise to discover this today, Lorie.  You have set a bright smile just where one was needed. :-) With warmest regards, Terry

Truly a lovely image! The concept reminds me of one of Marc Almond's album covers... A Lover Spurned
