I now wish I had taken note of the names of the orchids. I would like to own one of these.

Did the plant have flowers in groups of up to three along the upper parts of the stems? Were there a number of leafless stems, and a few with leaves? It's probably a "Nobile" type dendrobium. They often have a nice fragrance, especially the species; sometimes the hybrids (which this seems to be) lose it.
