Description

The part of the city where the tanners work. You are very lucky this picture doesn't reflect the smell I had to endure there. They use cow urine to tan the leather and the smell is accordingly. I had to leave after a few minutes as I couldn't endure it any longer. Morocco, Summer 2006. ZOOM for better view!

Amazing what photographer's will endure to get that perfect picture! This is a very interesting shot. I had no idea they worked in those beehive type modules. Great shot and very interesting as well.

Stayed there in 1979. It was unbelievabe. I remember the stinking, too! More worst than this here was the place where they worked with colors. The people worked inside the bassins full of colors and were totally colored, too. Wonderful to see this pic. Musted be aweful to get this POV.
