Description

In remembrance of a friend who I found out died last week. He wrote with me in a "Gotham City" group I am in and he played the character of Green Lantern. He will be missed. Keeping the Lantern Lit Reed was left standing in his room with nothing but questions facing him as Kurt dissappeared in a puff of smoke. The biggest question was, Who was this woman . .the one Kurt referred to as *a woman scorned* and where did this mess that was on his floor come from. Upon further inspection he could see that there were shards of glass from the mirror and the vases and the water was mixed with blood. He left his house not bothering to lock the door, his mind still in a daze. The woman who he had seen on the rooftop before Batman had shown up had to be the key to all this. She knew who he was, and if she knew that much about him, she could be dangerous. He decided to try and track her down. He saw them in the shadows on a balcony. He kept to the dark corners and stayed silent. They then went inside the house and he couldn't hear a word. He decided to retrace his steps of earlier in the day. Perhaps even the day before also to see if that would help. He first headed towards the zoo. He remembered the animals being loose and remembered Wayne towers blowing up. What else had happened a few nights ago? The prison break. He went there. . . but something was missing. Or. .someone was missing. He had had someone on his back that whole time. Could it have been her? He remembered taking someone to the hospital and then heading to the museum. Why? Why the museum? He went there and saw that it had been throughly demolished. Walking under the police tape barrier, he went inside and inspected the damage. It looked as though he had had a fight here with someone. . .yeah. . that Mr. Freeze guy. He remembered that. He walked down the hallway, picking his way throuigh debris and came to what looked like an office. It was decorated the way a woman might decorate an office. And there were cat statues everywhere. Walking over to a cupboard, he opened it and found it to be a wardrobe of some sort with alot of leather suits inside. They smelled of perfume. Purfume he had smelled before. On the rooftop perhaps? He couldn't remember. He decided to go back to his place. MAybe sleep would help bring his thoughts together. As he walked up the walkway of his house he noticed a faint green glow in his mailbox. His hand hit the bottom before he picked up something round and metallic. Pulling it out he noticed it was a ring that was a exact replica of his. How? More questions flooded his mind and he couldn't stand it any longer. He walked through the door and wnet into his room where the scent of old flowers and perfume assulted his nosstrils. He couldn't stand not remembering and it was driving him mad. There was only one place he could go for answers. . .he walked over to the Green orb and no sooner had he put his hand on it than he was staning in a bright white steril room. Looking around he blinked to adjust his eyes. In front of him stood a woman in a white overcoat and glasses. "Reed" she said flatly. She adjusted her glasses on her face and stepped closer to him. "I am sorry to inform you but we have found you wnfit for service at this time." She gave a slight nod and before Reed could do anything he felt the sharp prick of a needle embed itself into his neck. He slumped to floor and she nodded to the guard to take him away. "Put him in stasis for now. Perhaps in a couple of years we can de-brief him and put him back into service. But for now. . .it is too soon. Too much damage has been done. Take him away" she aid as she brushed away a strand of hair from his face. "I'm sorry Reed" she whispered. "YOu were a good man. . . . we will miss you." In memory of Green Lantern/John Huffines May he rest in Peace
