Description

FE & PS Hi all, A very muted image, this one. A zoom helps redeem it...at least a little.. I'm sure I'll look at this tomorrow and wonder what the hell I was thinking. But, the muffling feels appropriate for now. A thin paper membrane applied to repair my eardrum today, means lots of *shhhhh's* tonight. Ahhh, acoustics...strange and wondrous things. But, feeling fine. Good enough to test my ears with a little dip into Cannonball Adderley's *Somethin' Else*. Warm thanks to each of you for your comments and favs. And, extra special thanks for your wonderful birthday wishes, which quite literally made my day! Hugs all around..and hoping this finds each of you off to a beautiful and peaceful start this week. Thoughts, Nancy~*

Nancy I saved your image for last so I could enjoy it and I know I made the right choice. This was just what I needed as it is beautiful, calm and so relaxing. I think we all need a little quiet me time now and again and you capture just that so well here in your special style :)

soft and exquisite, seems to fit the tune, I'm listening now and that horn just wraps around my ears so sweetly, like the twists and swoops of this soft lovely fractally thing. I hope all the healing goes well and quickly.

quite soft and delicate, the colours seem to fade into one single tone, yet there are so many wonderful little details to discover, muted, in fine nuances. my father had an eardrum operation in the late 90's and he was quite happy afterwards. i hope it works the same way for you, nancy, hope you heal soon!

it's gorgeous, I mean it really is. As art & as sound. When we did sound-composition years back (composing with sound, both synthetic & recorded), we strove for hushes and hisses and the 'threshold' sounds that seem to emanate from the inside of the soul. I know they may not be as desirous if you've just had an ear procedure (I hope you're doing well with it, Nancy!), but as sheer experience it can be almost mantric. And what you've done is paint it: You've got these wonderful layers floating over each other, they're partly translucent but partly solid; and they seem like biological tissue ultra-close up, the way tissue appears in ultra magnified view where we feel we're almost too intimate, too close...And you have gentle sinews dropping down, and those oh-so quiet violets, and the overall texture of a subtle grain or raised-grain running throughout the piece, softening it even more...You couldn't have made a better evocation of the sound you describe if you tried. Beautiful, inward, I hope not to hard for you to live with now, and a strangely inviting image...to places of inner sound & silence. I hope you heal quickly Nancy. You sure made a beautiful piece of art.
