Description

This dedication is for a very dear friend of mine Marcia Gomes (MarciaGomes). Marcia and her husband Flavio Kern are truly wonderful people and almost like family to me. Marcia is a very caring lady and it shows in the lovely images she creates. Her art always has a happy and postive theme, and her gallery is a great place to go for a good time. This is a story Marcia shared with me from her childhood that I wanted to share with all of you my friends. With all the negative news everywhere it's nice to have something happy to focus on. Rodeo Queen (For MarciaGomes): When Marcia was a little girl her and her dog Gaby would walk by her aunt's home every day on their way home. She loved the beautiful horse that her aunt had and she dreamed one day of riding it. But poor Marcia was by herself and had no way of making her dream come true. Late one evening Marcia saw the horse had a bridle on and she got a great idea. Her and Gaby went into the pen and she tied the bridle of the horse to the fence. Carefully Marcia climbed a tree next to the horse, she had a great idea of leaping from the tree onto the back of the horse. Then she would be able to ride him and make her dream come true. I tried to capture that moment here and hope you like it. Okay so you want to know what happened ? Well Gaby started barking and scared the horse just as Marcia was jumping. The horse moved and poor little Marcia tumbled to the ground. Thanks for listening, hope you got a smile. Dave P.S. I know Marcia would want me to say this but we are both very sad about Cecilia (SSoffia) leaving the communtiy. She wrote me a letter the other day to tell me that a few people had been very mean to her and she no longer felt comfortable here. It is a sad day when someone that nice no longer feels welcome. I am trying to talk her into staying and hope you will join me.

sorry to hear about Ssoffia. she was one of my favorites up here. i'm really going to miss her. hearing about ms. gnomes experiences with runnaway horses remijds me of the tale u told me about your childhood. i fortunately have had little experience with the infernal creatures (horses) though i think they are very beautiful and love including them in my artwork. ialso wanted to say i think the character looks like a little girl marcia gnomes from her avatar. that was cool. i think some of the details on the horse looked pretty cool too.

beautifull scene in your unique style Dave...Like no one you can bring us back to our childhood and let us think back of the memories we had..You are such a nice and special person and your work always touches the heart,,,Another beauty my dear friend... About Ssofia...its sad some people think they are better then others...Art is about fun and expression of your inner mind...For each of us its unique so have the decency to respect others work or just shut up if you got nothing encouraging to say...I hope Ssofia will return cos if she don't renderosity will loose another unique artist...There is enough sorrow in this world..lets keep this community a nice place to be and a nice way to break through the bitter reality of each day.. fav++++

Great image, Dave! Since I grew up in the country I can see this scene as it happens! LOL! Trees do come in so very handy at times although can be some very unexpected results! S I'm sorry to hear that Cecilia is leaving. Mean comments come from small minds that have nothing better to do that try and hurt others out of jealousy or pettiness. It's hard, especially in a creative community to develop a thick skin against people and comments like that. Creativity is so subjective and the good ones always come from the heart where any attack, no matter how small, cuts to the quick. I hope she stays and thumbs her nose at those who hurt her feelings. One or two small minds shouldn't ruin it for everyone else.

Hi Dave, what a lovely story. I just love the smile on the horses face, and the expression on the girls face. As for the little dog, I can imagine he is feeling quite pleased with himself. :0) :o) As to making people feel uncomfortable, can't understand what there is to critisize, I am in awe of all the artwork on here.
