Description

Well.. had to give it a shot. I modeled a terrain in Silo 2.1 and imported it into V6I to see how easy/difficult it would be to apply materials to it.. Decided to go with the preset ecosystem "Arizona" which was modified a bit and then created a bitmap for the road surface. The modeled terrain here is copied a few times and placed just so to create an illusion of a road stretching to the (visible) horizon. Perhaps the most difficult thing was to get the scale right. Telephone lines modeled in Silo 2.1, too. Car's an old freebie.

I agree, the realism is very impressive and the scenery composition is first class. The poles look strange tho' IMHO, maybe it's the angle of the lighting and shadows.

chrispoole : errmm.. actually I think the poles are floating just a little above the ground, but hey.. Maybe I'll do another more sophisticated render. This was just a quick and dirty WIP-thing but I liked it so much I wanted to share it and ask for opinion.. Thanks, everybody !

The terrain work is very realistic - especially the distant part.
