Description

This is for my friend Larry (NetWorthy) who does wonderful work in Daz. Larry has a gift for creating images and magnificent stories to go with them. My favorite story Larry created is (Misty The Baby Dragon) In it he shows how he can touch your heart through his work. Most important for me is Larry has always been a real friend to my family and always checking on my sister. He shared with me this fantastic memory of when he was a boy living near Springfield Illinois. They lived near old abandoned mines and the rubble from them had built up over the years making huge hills seventy feet high. When it snowed the hills provided Larry and his friends a great place to go sledding, even if the hills were a bit rough because of all the rocks. This story is about one day when they had a fantastic new adventure and I hope you enjoy it. Down Hill Racers: It was a really cold day and Larry and his brother Rick headed to the hills to meet their friends and go sledding. While the kids were playing they found a hood from a old car half buried in the snow. The kids dug it out and thought it would be great to use it as a sled. Larry and nearly 14 kids worked so hard to drag it up the hill. Once at the top all the kids climbed on board and a older boy gave them a shove to get them started. Down the bumpy hill they soared, going faster and faster. Soon Larry saw Mick fall off and then his friend Butch too. Evey time they hit a bump another kid would go flying off of their sled. By the time they got to the bottom only Larry, Mike, Emma, Glory and her puppy were left. They were still going fast as their sled plowed into a group of small trees finally ending their journey. Larry and his friends laughed so hard and they rode down the hill two more times that day. Hope it brought smiles. Like a magic carpet on the snow:-) You are such a grand storyteller Dave, I hate snow, lol! But as a child spent many hours on the hill behind my grans on the sled or toboggan and making snow forts and snow angels. Its a shame most kids today won't have those 'country' memories. Everything is so commercial now with skiing and snow boarding and all that sort of things, simple things have so much more value and help build good character! Thanks again for the memories and the heart!

Dave, this is such a funny story and perfectly rendered. Great expressions and I love the kid falling off! I love the touch of the girl making a snowman in the background! Great work as always my friend! (Sorry this is so late... but you know...) 5+

Excellent and fun image, Dave! I love the poses and expressions! I love how the dog is holding on to the little boy's (Mike?) pants, while the little girl (Glory?), though scared herself is comforting him. The boy on the left looks pretty nervous too, while the two on the right (Larry and Emma?) look more excited than nervous. I like how they are all connected by touch. The boy that has just lost his seating adds a great comic element as does the knowledge from the story, that out of view are a trail of vanquished riders. Very nicely done. I checked out Larry's site and started at the beginning of the one he posted last. It's going to take me awhile to get to the current posts. (You cook Thai food!? I'll get to that in a letter!)

The dream of the children to play in the snow. A play told through this beautiful image and through the words that accompany the image. Understand the enthusiasm with which they dealt with the successive runs after the first where a large proportion were lost along the race. Very nice job and a beautiful memory for his friend Larry.
