Description
This is for my friend Judy (angelbearzs) who is the sweetest girl and best friend anyone could have. When I asked Judy what she wanted for her birthday last week she told me she wanted me to do a image for her so here it is. If you know Judy then you have to know how much she loves faeries and I was so proud to help her bring her magical idea to life for her.
Fairytale Birthday (For angelbearzs): It was the eve of her birthday as Judy and her kitty Boots finally drifted off to sleep. During the night Boots was woke up by a noise as he heard the window open. All Boots can do is meow as he sees a parade of little faeries coming through the window carrying presents. One of them brought a cupcake with the words (Happy Birthday Judy) spelled out and placed in upon her dresser. This continued for a while until finally Boots made enough noise to wake Judy up. Now both Judy and Boots got to witness this birthday miracle. My only wish is I could make this really come true for you Judy. Hugs,

Another gathering of your ever-rich detailing, everywhere. The 4 faeries are in completely different poses—one even coming through the window (nicely done for the perspective)—and they cast fine shadows against whatever they're near. The wings are exquisite—in fact, some of the most beautiful images in the piece. You also, of course, got them in all manner of angle, recession, etc. I can see why these take you time...The detailing on Judy is typically caring: her 2 hands in natural positions, the flare of her pajama leg quite full and visually striking, and her posture & expression—along with the expression of the cat—right in-the-moment. The big 'sea' of green (the bed) is a terrific foil to all the activity in the room, it spreads out for us through a large portion of the image. You even got the outside-city in various stages of focus (through the glass, without it, etc.) and your shadows are quite pronounced, more dramatic than in some of the images I've seen of yours, giving it a true 'dream' feel. It's a very happy image, and another one of your very human renders. It's no surprise, as each time I come here you do it all over again...

Ohhh! How sweet this story is! Makes me want to make it come true too! I don't know how long it takes to render this type of work or how long it takes to write your little stories but every minute is well worth it to the viewer and reader Dave! You take us on a fantasy journey with each and every image and story you do, I don't know about the others but it makes me feel like a child again, thats pretty powerful! This made me remember writing a story in about 6th grade, oddly similar to this but exchange the fairies for aliens, lol! The gift they brought me was a journey aboard their spaceship, like a magic carpet ride. You know, thats sort of like all your work, a magic carpet ride to the past, how awesome is that! P.S. Tanner is asleep so I can finally get caught up.:-)
