Description


It is a male of course. Looks dangerous but it isn't. Cannot puncture human skin. The biggest beetle of Middle Europe. Larvae develop for some 5 years, eating roots and timber. The size of the beetle exclusively depends on larval life conditions.

impressive shot. they sometimes come to my mum's garden. other beetles may be bigger, but few are as handsome (in a beetley way) as this.
