Description

When I was young, before the Great Battle still to come, I would wander out along the Castle ramparts as the suns went down and the triple moons were starting to rise.

Standing guard, across the opening in the ramparts that looked out across the Royal Baye of Grouville, stood the Sentinels of Prynne.

One third human, one third android and one third other worldly (it was rumoured) they lived and breathed but ate not at all, and it was possible to see the granite walls through their insubstantial forms.

Day and night, whatever the weather they stood, (and stand now) still as statues, guarding the Tower of Prynne and the Western Approaches.

But if the way was breached, they would turn any intruder to stone by virtue of their icy stare, and statues of such foolish intruders adorn the Castle courtyard to this very day.

What we would do without these loyal beings I shudder to think..

Nice! VERY Nice! The narrative rocks, the image rocks...in short, this rocks! I love the somewhat "Flash Gordon" style touches in the image: the winged helmet and the tight pants (what a friend of mine calls "love pants.") The background and surrounding image works well with the crisp, sharply defined character! And the prose adds so much to this image. The image works well as a stand-alone piece, but the prose brings a little something out of the image, something that was there to begin with! Great work!
