Description

I got this recipe while I was down in Georgia this last week.. The lady that gave me the recipe owns a house that was in some of the scenes from the movie, Gone With the Wind.. She invited me back down to take some pictures.. I had been there before to her home but it was years ago and back then I had some type of instamatic camera.. So I can't wait to go back and take some more (better) shots.. haha I made this recipe after I got home and it IS very good and very easy... a nice comfort food, which was great to make for my family after getting back home. And it was a hit.. If you want to try it I would suggest to only add one cup or maybe one and a half cup of sugar and not quite as much of the Mountain Dew.......and also be sure to coat your pan.. with a spray. Enjoy!

That is interesting, I used to drink a lot of mountain dew. Never thought of using it to cook with though! You think it was an accident, got knock over into the mixing somehow, and they were to lazy to start over?.... :) However it came to be, those dumplings look tasty! Could you fedex me a couple... :) Todd

Amazing what ingredients end up in things, and I'm with Todd, bet someone just knocked over a can and said, "heck with it!!". Goes along with all those other crazy recipes; I have one for "boiled cake"!!

I first met Mountain Dew in Miami listening to CKLW the Windsor, Ontario super power station. Slowly the story of the fleece came out with dew on it and not on the ground and off it on the ground around and not on it on other days. Then I arrived in Reading, Pennsylvannia at the railroad shops and on the mountain was a sign for the fleece and Jason. A few years later Jason's appeared in Windsor. I no longer could hear CKLW though we drove past the transmitter a few times. The apples look like Granny Smith but could be Fuji.
