Description

This may be a disappointing picture for those who had assumed that I would have advanced far more by now. But one of you may recognize it. This is me, slowly advancing while lagging ever further behind. (Yes, the comparison is short-lived, the situation isn't.) Here is the big clock, ticking away. Here is little me, old and bewildered and with no time to dress, trying the impossible even in finding a place for my right foot while trying to get hold of the hand. The render does not exactly match my expectations. In a way it is better (I like the reflections), in a way it is worse (I should probably not have enlarged the clock, just shrunk myself.) Invisible things: the glass door of the clock (set invisible), a grin, probably my tweaking of the hair. I had colored the pants neon green, before I decided on so blue a lighting (0,75,153). You may be about to suggest more lights. Thank you, but I'm not an acrobat performing. You just happened to catch me trying. The title came to me while writing these words. It's the title of a '30s love song by Sam Cahn and Saul Chaplin featuring a clock. Great personification of the battle against time. Which of course none of us can win.
