Description

Looking for realism here, so please comment. AsileFX grasspack & Lushness. The rocks are not an ecosystem, but a displaced material layer. Best sen in full size. Thanks for your visit & comments.

Initially, I thought the background was a photograph. It looks like it is a recently flooded area, as the ground - water interface looks too steep for a natural water level.

Excellent realism. The ground texture is superb. I think the rock clusters are a bit unnatural though although the rocks themselves are excellent!

I first noticed how the plants are growing perpendicular to the riverbank - would the stems of the grass not be growing vertically regardless of the slope they are on? The pebbles look a little unnatural, but only in their placement, not in their colour/texture. However, when viewed as a whole, its still a very realistic scene - you've done a great job on it! The earthen sections are particularly impressive, as is the water and island (opposite riverbank?) in the background.

Great job Bruno! Since you asked, will mention everything I noticed: Agree that the grass would grow vertically (plants are sensitive to gravity, not slope). The bank texture image looks good, but the bank displacement doesn't really follow the finer soil textures - looks kind of like a concrete bank with soil painted on (in the soil only areas). A wet soil stripe at the waterline would help the realism. The pebbles are excellent (especially at full-screen) but something about them seems a bit off - maybe too high above the soil? That is, rather than wind-blown soil between them? * Maybe more variety in the size of grass clumps? I like the subtle soft shadows and the water and sky are excellent. Very interesting project!

Holy geez! What a great texture,the light is superb as well.I tried to do some cobblestones this way but you had the patience to see it through.Not to sure if it is a natural occurance jumbled like that,but maybe something used to stand there(; Nice stuff(;

Very realistic, overall, but some details, already pointed out before, could be improved (namely the non vertical plants, which is for me the most notorious). The ground on the left seems a bit flat to me, like it had been pressed by a machine or something. Anyway, this is an excellent image.

Freakin awesome but to a small extent I have to agree with jc on the grass comment, also on the pebbles one...they do seem laying on top the soil rather than intermingled, but are better displacements than I've yet achieved...did you grayscale them first? I don't agree with the soil comment tho...looks real good to me. I now have a new benchmark to aim at...thanks for this.. ...

i quite agree with ic above, and for the grass i would say it is attracted by light (and gravity). the soil needs (maybe) some bump the water is imho a bit bright, that makes the waterline so cutting, and some more feflectiveness of the background trees. good work!
