Description
I was inspired by something I miss, snow. I usually enjoy creating my own textures but after suffering an injury to my right hand I am just getting used to using my left. The only textures of mine are the tats, hair, makeup, eyes and cape. Done in Vue 6 which gave me the desired lighting effects of the Magick and postwork done in CS3.

Beautiful character, love the lighting and effects, excellent work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very neat concept and image. 5+.
Wonderful image and work!! Great snow and tats!!
It is cool how the tattoo's are like tan-lines, also nice work on their shape as they appear to conform around the figure's UV map perfectly. The snowflakes are also a nice touch, gives the image a sense of motion. I hope the injury to your right hand is minimal or at least recoverable.
Excellent scene. There's a great sense of movement in it!

Personally, I don't miss snow ! But I like your image nevertheless. :)
Beautiful
Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I'm glad you all got the idea, that always makes me feel good :) Yes the snow was meant to give it some motion as the blue ray stretching across was meant to give the impression of the energy being pulled apart or coming together. This character was sort of my Jackie Frost, a magickal being that brings the snow. I appreciate the tat comments also as this was my first time I applied my tats post work. I normally do my tat work directly on the texture maps with an overlay level and a saturation level trick that allows the skin texture to still show through making it more realistic. This works great in Millenium characters Maps but V4 is a pain to line up. My original intent was to make the tats white but real tats never stay white long (skin doesnt hold white ink well) and white looked too fake which is why I usually avoid anything but black for fantasy characters since colored inks weren't used in medevial times. These tats were on a seperate level, blurred, lowered opacity, a little saturation and warped to fit. Thanks again. :)
All right! Not bad for a "blowed up" left hand. :) I was so happy to see this, to know you're still functional and coordinated enough to do stuff. And very nice work, by the way. The tat stuff is way over my head; I have no idea what you are talking about. :) But it sounds really cool and whatever it is you did, you did it well. What I really like though is the detail of the zillion snowflakes, how they are twisted, flipped every which way, and how they're blurred in the depth of field; they really look like they're falling. Tres cool! Then there's the over-all drama of the image itself, the way she's conjuring the snow as she walks through it. Of course, there is the question of why the snow witch is dressed for summer. Ha! Only in boy's land. ironical chick grin Just teasin', Grizzley bear! Great render, totally superb! Now give your hands a rest. Doctor's orders. :)
Beautiful work!!!!
