Description

This old girl is actually here from BC ,situated along "Mara Lake" near Sicamous , about 55 miles west of Revelstoke ,my own town ! Photo taken yesterday on my way out of town ! I have driven this part of the road many of times before , and never notice her existence till a month ago ,but never got the chance to pay her a visit ,but this time i did ! The way she looks now , i don't think that she will be among us very long ! So i have photographed her frail structure from all angles ,while my wife was waiting patiently in the car ! I'll be posting other pictures of this rare beautie in the near future ! Too bad that we are so advance into the Fall season , i'm a bit too late for the colorful autumn in all her splender coats ! Maybe next year ! I hope that we have a date ! I hope that she'll survive the hard and long winter that is knocking at our doors ! It's so sad to see those old jewels disapearing one by one forever ,taken with them their well garded secrets ! I find them facinating ! Ah the stories and tales they could tell if only they could talk ! But for as long as i have my camera on hand ,rest assured they will be remembered ! I think that i have mention this before ,that i have some kind of weakness for old buildings ,as you have probably notice ! Thanks for looking and for your comments ! Take care everyone !

yes, i agree it is sad to see them go, but it's the way it is - we are lucky we can save the images though.

Yeah a lovely old place that must have kept a few safe from those long winter snows and ice.. The skills in making them is probably lost for ever as well.

I would love to see her again in the Spring, no matter her condition. What a wonderful capture! I love Revelstoke. It's such a gorgeous place! I live in Washington, and I always feel a sense of connection with your town because of the river.

ti-Paul.

This has gotta be an absolute work of art! I find this capture to be fascinating! Really thought-provoking image, leaving so much of to the imagination! I too, like you have a weakness for these type of "semi-wrecks"..... Such a "simple" image, and yet a river of stories to tell..... Excellent capture! Your focus and detail is superb!

I believe she will outlive the winter. These old ladies can be unbelievably long-lived! Beautiful capture! You're the one I look to when I feel the urge to watch some beautiful old barns. Never thought I'd actually find a provider for that urge. Big thanks to you! :)
