Description

So let's see....I'm not entirely satisfied with this picture. I've been working on it for some time now, taking breaks here and there to start other pictures, coming back to it every now and then. I try and think of everything I do as a work in progress since I've only been using Vue for a couple of months now, but at the same time I try not to rush pictures too often. But I want to start moving on to other lands now, so I thought I should post this first. That said....most of the vegetation was created in Vue...the trees are Vue trees on top of trunks made using Silo, and there are a couple of xfrog oddities as well. Thanks for looking! Hope you like it! Would like some criticism to help me improve!

Very surreal and well done the way you have blended b/w with colors. Excellent

Very interesting piece. Looks pretty good, actually. The only suggestion I would make (and this is totally subjective since you are using imaginary vegetation) is to either reduce the highlighting or reflectivity on the tree trunks, or add more bumps. Again, this is subjective depending upon what you're trying to achieve. They have sort of a "wet" or "plastic" look to them. The other thing to try is reducing the scale of the color and bump functions. The grass or foilage or whatever you want to call it looks really good,

I like this lighting very much. The vegetation looks awesome: alien but still believable.

I respectfully disagree with cyberknight1133 that the trunks look plastic; they seem rather glistening-slimy-fungal-alien to me--and I normally don't care for a "plastic" look. What I like is the interesing contrast between the lighted, slingle "tree" on a hillock to the left with the dark grouping of the forest on the right. Sometimes, a thing is more finished to the casual viewer than to the creater of the scene. We often have some conscious or unconscious vision of what we want and the picture just is saying to us; "Uh-uh! That's not me--and I gotta be me." Grin. I think it is what it is supposed to be and that you ought to get on with those other projects.

Very beautiful. This looks like some sort of alien landscape on a far away planet. I like the use of soft colors and the excellent way you lighted this scene.

A bit of bright the foliage of the trees and reduced perpective, low deep(in my opinion); but a bright style and artwork, as usual.

I adore this style of work. It is so mind stirring...I keep thinking I'll see an alien critter come out from under the brush.
