Description

I tried to identify the type of wasp this is; easier said than done! I thought it may be a Sphecid Wasp or maybe a Mud Dauber. It is not easy to tell. (I need a book!) But, it is a wasp, on a beautiful hibiscus flower. Thank you all so much for viewing my previous upload... I really appreciate your time and comments! Have A Fabulous or even Freaky Friday! ~HUGS~ P.S. Try full-view for a better look at the wasp ;0)

Good capture of the hibiscus and wasp taken through a microscope, or a magnifying glass, no less. I really like the POV of the hibiscus pistil, all set for launch into outer space.

I think it is a fly mimic of wasps.the closest wasp looks like Spider Wasp, common name for any of a family of wasps that hunt spiders to feed their young. Most spider wasps are black, metallic blue, or reddish and measure from 1 to 5 cm (0.4 to 2.0 in) long. The wings range from clear to smoky-gray or bright red-orange in color. Their extraordinarily long hind legs distinguish spider wasps from other wasps.so since this insect does not have the long legs so it lets out the spider wasp.the good thing is that fly mimics are harmless to humans.no stinger and does not bite the fly mimics are such a varied specie and hard to get an identity outstanding capture no matter what the bug maybe and a beautiful hibicus
