Description

It´s MY country now! Freedom was expensive to East Timor 24 years of illegal occupation (UN never recognized) by Indonesian army and 300.000 people died in a country who has a population of one million persons. According to the Jewish Congress of the United States, it´s proportionely to population, the worst and larger genocide since Nazi Holocaust. But since the release of the country by the international tropes in September 1999, a new generation grown in the poorest country of Asia. Proud of so hard conquered freedom…

I have enjoyed your views of East Timor's people. Thanks for the history lesson and reminder of what should not be done. Hopefully these happy youngsters will have a future as bright and colorful as their national flag.
