It looks big because it is BIG!!!! this is the biggest insect I have ever seen (outside of a zoo) I only know what it is because I looked it up (it frightened me) :O Completely harmless to humans, it doesn't even eat in its adult phase, aparently considered very tasty by birds, dogs, cats, squirrels and even some people. aha she said,"so this is the thing that makes the ungodly noise in the heat!'

oh yes, they predicted this would be the year for them too... luckily it wasn't nearly as bad as they thought. They only come out like once every 7 years or so. ANywho, nice capture of the little... big critter :P
