Description
Amelia is responding very slowly to quimotherapy, her mother quit her job to be with her 24/7, she sleeps on the floor, her dad comes on weekends since he took a third job. This morning Guadalupe was at the verge of collapse, both physically and emotionally.

No offense intended, but I kind of agree with Bill Wa. Hard for me to imagine taking photos of something so incredibly heart breaking and then posting it. Something just doesn't seem right about it to me. Like I said, I don't mean to offend you, I just don't understand. It is a beautiful picture in it's own way, and it has brought out emotion, which good art does (it makes me cry). I pray to God the beautiful little girl gets well and has a wonderful life and goes on to enjoy your art.

Gasman, thank you for your comment! This is a visual journal of a television series I worked on in Guadalajara, the reason for the series is to collect funds for an organization that provides financial, housing and more important moral and psychological help to children with cancer and their families. Yes, I know is hard to see and even harder to be there while working but how is the world to know the needs of others if not by showing it? We all pray for these children but their needs require a bit more tangible help.

goido, nicely said and very helpful. Your project is an important one. This is a powerful and poignant image of suffering and strength. One of the greatest powers of photography is to capture truth, which is not always easy or pleasant to see, but there is also great beauty in truth. My prayers are with all these children and their families.

Such a sad and touching scene. This is what great photojournalism is all about. The emotion that this emotion evokes is so moving! The image is sincere and intimate, not necessarily invasive. The fact that there is a cause that it helps just makes it that much better better! Wonderful image!
