Description
I can't believe it, on seeing all those dragon flies on this site i was really amazed by them, these shots have really inspired me. So moaning (to who ever was listening to me) that i never see any around i found on my last walk that several appeared around a small lake, in a forest we found. Well i was ecstatic it's like someone had heard me or did it to shut me up lol, so took several shots but didn't realize there devils to capture their faster movers than butterflies, this one was the only one that came out but at least i got one lol. So i'm happy now.

one must be patient and watch for their favorite places to land. usually they will return to the same place and I have more luck approaching them from the back or side a beautiful dragonfly and you done a fine capture. they are very quick but do not have erratic flights like butterflies

Damsel Flies wings lie flat on their back while resting. Dragon Fly wings remain spread at the sides.... That makes this a Damsel Fly. Sorry, bug geek me. Great shot.

Thank you for your comments and thank you for the info dwarvenkind i always wondered how people were capturing dragonfly shots with their wings open lol i didn't know they don't fold. Another lesson learnt i'm finding this site very helpful as long as you don't charge for lessons lol.

Excellent picture. The color is amazing, they must be rechargeable, fly back to their charging station at night to keep their colors glowing all day. Todd
