Description

Upload: 016 V Title: A last farewell Series: Autumn Leaves ~ A last hurrah Location: Wildcat Canyon Rd., Berkeley, California Date: December 29, 2005 Image: 23323M1b2s Camera: Sony DSC-V1, Full Frame Commentary: The weeks during December 16, 2005 thru January 13, 2006, are very personal as they reflect a brief moment in my life in which I was close to death and the photographs that were taken in that period reflect an end to life. I was not aware of my own situation, my own upcoming death as I photographed the closing cycle of nature, including the remains of dead animals. Going back over these and other photographs, I have realized I only postponed my winter, as my open-heart surgery has brought me a few more decades that I shall not waste. Other work can be seen at Timeless Photo .

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and commenting. Vielen danke das sie die Zeit genommen haben meine Arbeit zu betrachten und darauf zu Kommentieren. Egmont

I would think this was powerful, even without the narrative. Your art speaks volumes, Egmont. Everything is there, for those who care to see...Brilliant and expressive imagery, my friend.-M :^)

You are the tree and not the leaf that falls. You will blossom every year as it is not your time yet. Glad you are with us and wishing you the best of health. Aloha

Nothing will be lost! There is only a never ending story of the transformation! Try not to see everything only in black and white! Just kidding! :)

Good day to you Egmont, It is strange how the subconscious seem to influence the physical body. You were making works of the end of life before a clinical diagnosis of your condition was confirmed. I am so glad that the Winter of life is postoned for you, that you are with us still making and sharing beautiful works such as this. This work is superb, I want to reach in and crumble a leaf in my hand, let it fall back to earth to give life to other thriving plants. Hugs. Diane.

Excellent thoughts to go with this enchanting photo taken during that scary period in you life. Technically spot on, ever element in this image could not have been more effective had you carefully arranged it yourself. I'm glad you are still with us.

How often nature mirrors that which goes on inside us, and how often a small core of our being tunes in, even though we are seemingly unaware. We are blessed with your photography, your thoughts and your presence. Thank you for sharing your turn in the road. I am glad you are here :)

Even in pain and scare you did excelent on this fallen leaf. I like a tone, not blowned out as many others would do this capture.
