Not sure the Bible mentions lesbians? Even if it does, I sure there are a lot worse things a person can do, like being untrue to themselves and denying the awsom creation of their creator! Why are Christians so wrapped up in thier sexualaty? I would have thought justice and truth were more important than what you do with your wiggly bits! Yer i am a Christian, no i'm not a poof! I can think of a thousand better things to do with my tounge than destroying a fellow human being with it... like shouting out about injustice and the real imorality of poverty and enslavment! Dear Doro, I don't know if it's really religious motivated because I think it goes even deeper than that. Religion is the excuse - and maybe the justification - but the inherent problem is more fundamental. Bigotry in any manifestation doesn't need religion or anything else to get it going. I've not had the same problems as you, but I've felt similar things and had the barbs tossed my way. It happens anytime people are "different." But the problem is that we are ALL different. When you start hating people for differences, you can only end up hating everyone. You get yours in the grocery store. I get mine as the only girl in class. "Good Morning Gentlemen - and Meredith." And while class is behind me, I still find myself daily as the only "girl in class." And I don't get much "burn in Hell" stuff, but I do get a lot of folks that would much prefer me "barefoot and pregnant." And yet, I'm much more fortunate that most girls. At least at work, I don't have to put up with that attitude - I can boot the bigots out into the parking lot - but most girls don't have that "boot" option. The real problem is "Straight People" and "Gay People" and "Male People" and "Female People" and "White People" and "Black People" and "Christian People" and "Jewish People" and "Moslem People" and any other modifier that someone wants to put before "People." Everyone is just "People" - no modifier needed, wanted, or justified. And sadly, although people become more "politically correct" in their speech, most of the underlying hostile emotions to anyone "different" still remains. I wish I knew the answers - but I don't. I wish I could say to you that you'll never run into that attitude again - but you will. And so will I. Love ya!!! Meredith

Beautiful image with message! Meredith is right, the problem isnt religion or sexual orientation. The problem is the creation of categories. This itself creates a ranking too. Its completely sufficent to divide people in group a and group b and as soon as they accept the category given to them, theyll start to seperate from each other and prefer their own group over the other. From this point of view, the naming of God or another higher entity ("Nature")is just the justification for personal stereotypes, dislikes and prejudices. The base for peace and happiness is so simple to name but often so different to follow: Behave yourself towards others, like you want them to behave towards you! Sehr sches Bild mit Botschaft! Oh, honey. Have I been there. I remember how Jo and I had to pretend to be something we aren't as not to hurt people's feelings. (Something we would only do for her daughter ... it was a special situation) But we don't do it any more (unless it's for her) We are just us. I'm visually impaired and it's a blessing. I don't see the dis-approving looks. I wouldn't care if I did. At 52 (53 next month) I am proud of who I am ... who WE all are. To the wonderful Christian gentleman on the previous page ... bravo, to me that's what following Jesus is all about. Although i do NOT agree with the alternative lifestyle, it is not for me to choose. As long as you are happy and a good person, I could care less. Just as long as you are a productive member of society and do not harm anyone or break the law---do whatever you want(within reason...lol). I understand your problem though, I am not gay, but everyone has "cravings" of all sorts that they must deal with. Christian doctrine is often misinterpreted as hate and maybe sometimes it is. I'm not here to lie. Christ Jesus if you believe in him and the New Testement says that Hell is a lake of fire made for Satan and his demons. It was not ment for us although it is believed among Christians that those who reject the Son of God will be cast into hell. Temtation is also discribed in the Bible both Old and New Testement. Now then not as to hate you per say some Christians are just trying to warn you. They don't make the rules or enforce them in the after life. What you believe is ultimately something you have to decide for yourself. Of course no true Christian would ever support self destructive behavior of any kind. God Loves You!
